Description:
A two hour, interactive parent information program. Content is developed to the age group (primary, middle) and includes risk and protective factors, warning signs, and resources. This can be an individual or group process. The group process is done in Parts I and II.
Lunch 'n Learns
Description:
A monthly professional training service that is offered at Hunterdon Prevention Resources or at a local restaurant during lunch time. Topics are determined by emerging needs. Prior topics include: Internet Safety, Crisis Prevention, Heroin, Ecstasy, Biopsychosocial Assessments, Confidentiality, Drug Trends
Identifying Prevention Principles
Description:
This training was developed to respond to the need for members of community-based organizations to understand and apply the concepts of effective prevention principles and outcome evaluation to their prevention work. This training will prepare members of the community or school to identify strategies and activities that will address the needs identified tin their communities. Participants will brainstorm about which prevention programs and activities will be most beneficial, and to which age groups they will be presented.
Drug Overview: What can Parents Do?
Description:
Beginning with a short video on facts about drugs and their use among young people today, this program includes a discussion on how to talk to your children about the dangers of drug use. It includes a question and answer period, and participants receive a copy of the booklet: Parenting for Prevention.
