Autism: Exploring the "Education" that Meets the Life Needs of Our Children with ASD (in recognition of Autism Awareness Month)
Lunch and Learn presented by Marianne Clancy of Autism AIMS, LLC. Please contact HPR for further information at 908-782-3909
Individuals with autism have the best opportunity to learn and succeed when they are purposely taught, in a direct and systematic way, those skills they need in all areas of development, including communication, social skills, and crucial adaptive skills. It is important for parents to consider all their child’s needs, in order to determine how parenting and how educators can teach to these needs. In this workshop, Marianne will share her journey over the past dozen years since her teenager was diagnosed with autism, discussing various parenting as well as formal education and supplemental educational avenues that address her son’s needs as they develop through the lifespan.
