Reach Out, Start Talking Before They Start Drinking
Description:
When people hear the phrase "underage drinking", they often think of teenagers using alcohol. By the time youth reach 8th grade, 41% of adolescents have at least one drink., and nearly 20% have reported to being drunk. Fifth and Sixth grade is not too soon to start talking about illegal alcohol use. Reach Out is an evidence based curriculum by the Substnce Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration. Youth will learn how alcohol can damage a young brain and will be given the tools of what to say and what to do if they are put in that situation.
