Mentoring/Prevention Coordinator Cathy is new to the non-profit world, having worked the past 13 years in the marketing department of a large law firm. Cathy joined the agency as Mentoring Coordinator for the federal grant Mentoring Children of Prisoners (MCP), an one-on-one mentoring program for children ages 4-18. In addition to recruiting mentors and mentees, she is responsible for marketing and public relations. As with the MCP grant, she is also responsible for the marketing and public relations for HPR. Cathy also works on the Drug-Free Communities grant as DFC Assistant and works closely with the Director of the Hunterdon County Safe Communities Coalition. |
Ciullo, JeanPosition:
Director of Prevention Programs Jean Ciullo earned an Associates Degree in Fashon Merchandising and started her career in retail management, working for stores like Abraham & Straus, Foxmoor's Casuals and Macys. Her desire to get into the travel industry led her to People Express Airlines, where she became a Customer Service Manager. After an exciting two years with People Express, she pursued a career with Thomas Cook Travel and eventually became Travel and Meetings Manager for a surety bond company in Bedminster, NJ. Several years after the birth of her twins, Jean decided to pursue part-time work that would not only allow her to be available to her children, but would allow her to work with other children as well. Years of volunteering in the Clinton Township school system as well as teaching CCD for three years , led Jean to a position with Hunterdon Prevention Resources as a Program Coordinator and classroom presenter. She has been with HPR for 8 years and was promoted to Director of Prevention Programs in March of 2009. Jean has been a NJ resident all her life and has resided in Hunterdon County for the last 13 years. She loves the beach, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. |

DFC Coordinator and Prevention Educator Jerri is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist. She offers individual and/or group treatment, providing tools and techniques that will help a person quit for good. Jerri graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree, in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. She worked in a family run business for 25 years, before entering the education sector, as a pre-school teacher. |
DeVito, AnnePosition:
Office Administration Anne has over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector. Anne has passionately worked to promote healthy choices and non-smoking initiatives in the community of Hunterdon. To many, Anne is "the face" of Hunterdon Prevention Resources. Anne has, over the years of her career, talked to thousands of individuals and families to provide technical assistance and get them the help they need. She is unfailingly supportive and caring, and this is communicated to all she works with. In her spare time Anne enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren, and spending time at the beach. |
Dowd, PeggyPosition:
DFC Coordinator, Prevention Educator Peggy graduated from Cabrini College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management. For over 17 years Peggy worked as a benefits systems consultant for Towers Perrin, handling much of the training and development needs. In recent years Peggy has dedicated time to raising her 4 children and volunteering with her Church, the Flemington Raritan PTO’s, and Girls Scouts. For many years as a volunteer, Peggy encountered and was very impressed with the prevention programs at HPR . She is happy to be working part time as a Prevention Educator and will serve as coalition coordinator for the Drug Free Communities grant. Peggy enjoys her time with her family, cooking, theater, golf and tennis. |
Gabel, LesleyPosition:
Associate Executive Director Lesley graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1988 from Hofstra University. Lesley has over 20 years experience in the corporate environment. She managed numerous quality management systems including, process controls, auditing, training, process improvement programs, statistical analysis, and facilitation systems. Lesley manages the Drug Free Communities Grant as well as efforts on Underage Drinking, Strengthening Families program, plus preparing and managing grant requirements. She is also responsible for the technology side of our business. Lesley has been fortunate to live in many parts of the country like Georgia, New York, California, Nevada, Colorado and now New Jersey. She enjoys her time with her family, coaching youth sports as well as working in our community. |

Prevention Educator Joseph graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Accounting in 1974 from Joseph assists in providing prevention education to the Hunterdon Community. Like the other members of Hunterdon Prevention Resources, Joseph is an advocate for making healthy choices. In his free time, Joseph enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering, and all sorts of exercise including tennis, nature walks and swimming. |
Sanchez, FlorPosition:
Bi-Lingual Prevention Educator and Resource Center Coordinator Flor is originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. She graduated in Business Administration with a Master in Tourism from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. She married and moved to Costa Rica, her husband home country. She spent 7 years in Costa Rica and was actively involved in community activities as part of the International Active 20-30 Club (Rotary Club brother). In 1994 moved to the Hunterdon area as a result of her husband relocation process. During the first years she decided to raise her three children. She is a Bilingual Prevention Educator for Hunterdon Prevention Resources, and very active in the Hispanic Community in Hunterdon County. Flor es originaria de Oaxaca, México. Se graduó en Administración de Negocios con un Master en Turismo en la Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. Se casó y se mudo a Costa Rica, país de origen de su esposo. Vivió 7 años en Costa Rica y estuvo involucrada activamente en trabajo comunitario con el Club Activo 20-30 (hermano del Club Rotario). |
Smith, LisaPosition:
Prevention Educator Lisa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Seton Hall University and is New Jersey certified to teach Preschool, Kindergarten through Eighth grades. She was a stay -at-home mom for over fifteen years and an active volunteer in the schools and her church. Lisa entered the workforce several years ago as a Pre-kindergarten teacher in a local nursery school. She recently joined the staff at Hunterdon Prevention Resources and is happy and excited to be working with children of all ages as a Prevention Educator. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising and reading books.

MSW, CPS Executive Director/CEO Karen has been working in the non-profit sector for her entire career, first in treatment for 15 years, and in prevention for the last 8 years. Karen received her Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University and is a Certified Prevention Specialist. She has worked with various populations including the emotionally disturbed, MICA clients, and with at-risk individuals. At this point in her career, she strongly believes that prevention intervention is the key to minimizing many societal problems. Karen is currently Executive Director of Hunterdon Prevention Resources and has served in that position for 8 years, and serves on several community boards in the county. Karen is also an experienced outdoor education instructor, and has taught high ropes course instruction for many years. Karen enjoys volunteering, reading, playing competitive volleyball, exercising, and spending times at the beach in her spare time. |
Willard, LauriePosition:
Marketing Coordinator and Prevention Educator Laurie is a mother of two who returned to the workforce with HPR after being a stay at home mom for many years. Laurie is responsible for Marketing as well as teaches several of our prevention education programs. She attended Kean College of New Jersey and has an extensive background in medical management and marketing. Laurie has always enjoyed working with children and has aspirations of becoming a teacher. In her present capacity, she is able to work with a variety of age groups while giving her the professional and creative outlet she finds so gratifying. |
